One
of the pleasures of the Gaucin climate is being able to live out of
doors most of the year. What could be more satisfying in early January
than having lunch on the terrace overlooking the most beautiful view
when the rest of northern Europe is covered with frost and snow? At
Los Buhos there are shady terraces, a sheltered terrace which is warmer
in winter or on windy days, sunbathing terraces….One is better for breakfast
in winter, another wonderful at sundown. And so every area of the house
has its role.
None of the terraces are overlooked so you are completely private.
The lower terrace is protected and sheltered and leads directly onto
the garden. The one leading off the sitting room has a colonial feel
with louvred shutters, a wooden ceiling, and arches looking onto the
countryside beyond.
The eating area here has been constructed using railway sleepers giving
an age-old quality. There is the charming breakfast area outside the
kitchen and the sunbathing terrace at the top of the house is for serious
sun worship. With 200 sq.m of terrace, the choice is yours.
